AMERICAN RECOVERY & REINVESTMENT ACT

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
Regional Plans for Investment in Highway Infrastructure
And Public Transit Systems

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, also known as ARRA or simply “stimulus”, requires a level of reporting and transparency through a significant regional web presence. Within this site you will be able to link to Federal and State web resources related to the ARRA as well as view, print and download all of the regional project data and research related to highway infrastructure and public transit funding, through the Federal Highway Administration and the Federal Transit Administration, of the ARRA through TITLE XII – Transportation + Housing and Urban Development.

This site does not provide information related to all of the other TITLES within the ARRA, as listed below:

TITLE I – Agriculture, Nutrition and Rural Development
TITLE II – Commerce, Justice and Science
TITLE IV – Energy and Water
TITLE VI – Department of Homeland Security
TITLE VII – Interior and Environment
TITLE VIII – Labor, Health & Human Services, and Education

There is a considerable amount of information available on the Federal and State links, some of which are linked above for your convenience, related to these other programs. Additionally, each of the RMAP partner agencies has ARRA information available on their website. Partner links can be found in our Other Links section.

The Rockford metropolitan region, through the Rockford Metropolitan Agency for Planning, received $6,111,395 in suballocated ARRA funds for highway investment and $ 3,693,756 in suballocated ARRA funds for public transit. The table, charts, documents and research found in the Regional Information section of this website relates only to this small component of the stimulus. Please feel free to contact the RMAP staff if you have questions or comments related to the ARRA, this website, or regional planning in general.
